darjeeling-himalayan-pride-second-flush-black-tea-product
Darjeeling Himalayan Pride Second Flush Black Tea
A delicious early second flush tea with the freshness typically found in first flush Darjeeling, balanced beautifully with the distinctive 'Muscatel' perfume and flavour of the finest summer teas. The complex fragrance — reminiscent of honey, flowers and soft fruits — harmonises perfectly with a crisp green apple character.

This exceptional tea is picked exclusively from old Chinese tea bushes at Margaret's Hope plantation, nestled in the cool mountain air between Darjeeling Town and Kurseong at altitudes up to 7500ft. Only the finest summer pluckings meet our uncompromising standards, with each leaf carefully selected to deliver the remarkable quality this garden is renowned for.

A fascinating characteristic of the very best second flush teas is their ability to mature beautifully over time, developing greater depth and complexity — rather like a fine wine. Margaret's Hope grows only slow-growing Chinese type bushes on undulating slopes that create an enchanting landscape, ideal for producing outstanding second flush teas.

We source from estates where sound social and environmental practices are embedded, including certifications across IMO, USDA Organic, India Organic, Ethical Tea Partnership, Fairtrade, UTZ and the Rainforest Alliance.
