darjeeling-mountain-mystic-first-flush-tea-product
Darjeeling Mountain Mystic First Flush Tea
This tea comes from what I believe is the best garden in Darjeeling. The fresh, grapefruit-like zesty aroma is balanced with muscatel grape and a hint of something almost cinnamon-like. The pale yellow yet rich liquor sits like a satisfying white wine on the tongue, with a layered palate of exotic fruit flavours—guava and nectarine—alongside the characteristic First Flush note of wintergreen freshness.

One of the finest Darjeeling teas of the season, this comes from the Turzum garden. Their teas arrive later than any other because they're grown at such altitude; whilst other gardens are on their 30th plucking round, Turzum waits. The patience pays off. The complex, spring character of First Flush teas emerges here in a non-typical, subtle and smooth way that sets it apart.

First Flush teas from Darjeeling are amongst the most sought-after in the world. Their unique spring character makes them genuinely difficult to classify. Barely oxidised, they're not quite black tea despite their rich flavour. The infusion is pale as a green tea, yet entirely different in character. The finest qualities—which is what we source—deliver a fragrant, floral presence and refreshing, layered infusion.

We work exclusively with gardens where sound social and environmental policies are established. Our partners hold certifications including IMO, USDA Organic, India Organic, Ethical Tea Partnership, Fairtrade, UTZ and Rainforest Alliance.

DJ17-JS-TUR
