jasmine-monkey-king-green-tea-product
Jasmine Monkey King Green Tea
Our most economical yet far from an ordinary offering. This tea ranks at number five amongst hundreds of jasmine varieties available. Made in the traditional way by layering lightly oxidised green tea with jasmine blossoms. The higher the grade, the more times this layering is repeated with freshly picked blossoms, each application building complexity and depth.

The process unfolds overnight as night-blooming jasmine blossoms—picked in the morning with petals tightly closed—are stored until evening. As the flowers open, they make a distinctive popping sound, signalling the beginning of the infusion. Blossoms are placed between layers of green tea leaves for four hours, then carefully removed. This repetition, sometimes performed up to seven times for premium grades, ensures the tea absorbs the jasmine's characteristic fragrance without becoming overpowering.

Curiously, the highest grades contain fewer visible blossoms in the finished product, as the essence has been fully transferred to the leaves. What you're left with is a beautifully balanced cup—the delicate floral notes complementing the subtle vegetal notes of the green tea beneath. A masterclass in restraint and tradition, this is jasmine tea worth savouring.
