sencha-kagoshima-yutaka-midori-green-tea-product
Sencha Kagoshima Yutaka Midori Green Tea
This is the highest quality Sencha from Kagoshima Prefecture, nestled at the southwest tip of Kyushu, Japan's third largest and southernmost island. Crafted from 'Shincha'—the first flush harvest—it represents the most celebrated plucking of the year.

The Yutaka Midori tea bush strain delivers a distinctively sweet, rich liquor with pronounced umami character and minimal astringency. Connoisseurs often draw comparisons to the revered Gyokuro teas of Japan.

What sets this tea apart is the 'Fukamushi Cha' or deep steaming process. Whilst all Japanese green teas are steamed, this receives approximately one minute longer—a critical, skill-dependent step that separates excellence from mediocrity. Few Japanese growers possess the expertise to master it without compromising the final cup.

Deep steaming breaks down the leaf structure, but the reward is extraordinary: layers of flavour and fragrance that justify every moment of careful craftsmanship. All cultivation and processing occurs within the tea garden itself, with no chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Instead, a traditional Japanese fertiliser recipe allows new growth to unfold slowly, enriches the soil, and sustains vibrant, healthy bushes—resulting in a remarkably pure, clean cup.

Expect notes of citrus, green muscat, flowers, creaminess, fresh greens, melon, grass fragrance and nettle flower nectar. A tea that rewards contemplation and reveals itself with each steep.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1023/0277/7692/files/421V_0_b88caa79-7043-4f19-9c52-af5a13914e63.jpg?v=1790343280
