This authentic Japanese cast iron teapot is finished with a delicate slate grey lacquer, enhancing the satisfying shape, which seems at once organic and geometric, like a discus. Our collection of Wazuqu teapots is manufactured in Yamagata, Japan, by the Kikuchi Hojudo workshop. It was founded in 1604 and is now managed by the 15th generation of the same family.

The excellent craft techniques were preserved until today and the cast iron is of the highest quality and purity. The enamel is baked at higher temperatures than the products from other regions in Japan and because of refined techniques, the weight of the teapots is also on average 25% lighter than other Japanese cast iron teapots. By paying special attention to the spout, this is now completely drip-free. Each product from the workshop of Kikuchi Hojudo is of the highest quality.

These teapots have an enamelled interior, which makes them low maintenance but care should be taken to avoid marking the exterior. Do not wash in soap, salt or dishwasher. A rinse in hot water is all that's required, gently drying before storage. It holds 0.35L and has a removable stainless steel infuser.
