Care Instructions

With a little care, your Lihua cast iron teapot will provide many years of enjoyment.

• Before first use: Rinse the teapot and removable infuser thoroughly with warm water.

• After each use: Empty the remaining tea and leaves, then gently rinse the enamelled interior with warm water. Wash the removable strainer separately.

• Dry thoroughly: Wipe the teapot with a soft cloth, paying particular attention to the lid, rim and any exposed cast iron surfaces. Never leave water standing inside.

• Protect the enamel: Avoid metal utensils, abrasive cleaners and scouring pads that might scratch or damage the protective lining.

• Avoid prolonged soaking: Never submerge the teapot in water or place it in the dishwasher.

• Heating: Lihua is designed for brewing and serving tea, not for boiling water. Do not place directly on a hob, open flame or in a microwave.

• Storage: Keep in a dry, well-ventilated place, leaving the lid slightly open until completely dry.

Our Brewing Tip

Warm your teapot with a little hot water before brewing, then discard this water before adding your tea leaves and fresh brewing water. This helps maintain a more consistent brewing temperature and allows your tea to develop its full character.
