Above the altar in Lincoln's magnificent gothic cathedral stands a stone figure—the famous Lincoln Imp. Legend tells how the devil sent two imps to cause mischief: they knocked over chairs, upended tables, and tripped the bishop. When one climbed above the altar to admire his chaos, an angel appeared and turned him to stone. There he remains...or so the story goes.
But here's where it gets interesting. When no-one's watching, that imp has rather sophisticated tastes. He slips away to Imperial Teas, tucked inside another of Lincoln's stunning Norman buildings, and sneaks into our blending room to meddle with our tea. The result? We genuinely have no idea what he adds from one batch to the next.
The beauty of this is beautifully simple: our blending room contains only the finest teas and premium flavouring ingredients. So whatever mischief he's caused, you're in for a cup of genuine quality—just never quite the same twice.
Expect a robust, malty black tea with a subtle twist that keeps you guessing. What that twist will be is entirely up to the Imp's whims. Some say that's rather thrilling. We say it's a tea worth discovering again and again.
