Paperless Ceramic Pour-Over Coffee Filter
FREE UK DELIVERY FOR ORDERS OVER £42
This is a rather different way to make filter coffee. Instead of holding a paper filter, the cone itself is made from finely porous ceramic. The brewed coffee passes slowly through the ceramic into the cup or coffee server below, while the grounds remain inside the filter.
As there is no paper to absorb the natural oils in the coffee, the resulting cup has more body and a rounder mouthfeel than conventional paper-filtered coffee. At the same time, the fine ceramic structure filters out the coffee grounds without the metallic flavour or heavier sediment sometimes associated with reusable metal filters.
Place the filter over a suitably sized cup or coffee server, add freshly ground coffee directly to the cone and slowly pour over the hot water. No disposable paper filters are required.
The porous ceramic needs slightly more care than an ordinary glazed dripper. Rinse it thoroughly under running water immediately after use, using a soft toothbrush to remove coffee grounds where necessary. Do not use washing-up liquid or other detergents, as these can be absorbed by the ceramic and affect the flavour of subsequent brews. It is not dishwasher safe. Allow it to dry completely before storing.
Coffee server and cup not included.
The throughput speed and taste of the coffee depend on the degree of grinding of the coffee. The finer the grind of the coffee, the slower the throughput speed. The slower the throughput speed, the stronger and stronger the taste of the coffee and vice versa. You can adjust the taste and strength individually based on the degree of grinding and the amount of coffee.
