Sour Cherry Chocolate Covered Liquorice

Cherry Sour is wonderfully lively: sweet enough to feel indulgent, but with enough acidity to keep you reaching for another piece.

Soft sweet liquorice is coated in creamy white chocolate and finished with crunchy cherry granules. Ripe, fruity cherry gives the first burst of sweetness, while darker sour-cherry notes bring a fresh acidity that cuts beautifully through the chocolate. Beneath it all, the liquorice provides the deeper, longer finish.

It’s a combination I particularly like because there’s a real progression to the flavour. Creamy, fruity and tart arrive almost together before the liquorice gradually takes over — much more interesting than something that simply tastes sweet from beginning to end.

That balance also makes Cherry Sour very easy to enjoy with tea. I’d choose a fragrant black tea, a fruity oolong or a bright, aromatic coffee; enough character to meet the cherry, without overwhelming its fresh acidity.

54% white chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, whole MILK powder, emulsifiers: SOYA lecithin, lecithin, natural flavour), rice flour, sugar, invert sugar syrup, molasses, glucose syrup, 4% cherry juice granules, 2% raw liquorice, acid: malic acid, rapeseed oil, glazing agents: gum arabic, shellac, salt, cocoa butter, natural flavours.

Cocoa solids: 26% minimum. Gluten free.
