ASSAM RASBHARI JAAM BLACK TEA
Why not add
The best Assam teas are harvested in the summer months of May and June during the high-quality Second Flush period. Lukwah, Keyhung and Itakhooli are among the few tea plantations in the Brahmaputra river valley that produce tea from the very distinctive clonal bush known as K1. It is unique for its natural hint of fresh raspberry flavour and aroma, hence the RJ code, for 'Raspberry Jam'. Although found in other gardens it is usually blended in with other types so the character is lost. When we find a batch that is pure 'RJ' we buy the lot! When taken builder's style with creamy milk and two sugars, it is almost like having a scone, cream and jam! One of my favourite teas of the year for breakfast toast and jam or afternoon tea accompaniment.
