This unusual roasted leaf is sometimes known as 'Twig' tea. It starts out life as a green tea but the roasting gives it a very different, smooth, toasted, nutty, slightly caramel-like flavour. It is slow roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal. It is lower in caffeine than most teas and believed to have a higher iron content.

Not strictly a green tea, and far from green in colour, this unusual roasted leaf is sometimes known as 'Twig' tea. It starts out life as a green tea but the roasting gives it a very different smooth, toasted, nutty flavour. It is slow roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal. It is lower in caffeine than most teas so is widely drunk by children and the sick in Japan. It is believed to have a higher iron content than other teas so we often have expectant mothers sent to us by midwives who have recommended it. The toasty, slightly caramel-like flavour replaces the floral, vegetative tones normally found in green tea.
