BLACK VELVET BLACK TEA

We have selected three of the best black teas in the world, all from Taiwan, to make this stunning blend. The deep red, lingering liquor of one of the components, carries a strong fragrance and flavour of exotic spice. Another has a strong red grape aroma in the dry leaves with a raisin-like flavour in the cup that also carries subtle notes of bergamot and mint. The third part delivers dark chocolate, rose, peach, and honey. The honey note is brought about by a phenomenon that occurs in just two places in the world, Taiwan and some gardens in Darjeeling, described as 'Muscatel'. For a couple of weeks in the early summer, the leaves of the tea bush are bitten by tiny insects. It is my belief that Taiwan is now the undisputed top producer of black teas in the world. Each variety offers something so unique that they are easily told apart.
