The tea has a delicate, slightly reddish semi-broken leaf which brews a highly aromatic, robust infusion perfect with milk. It has refreshing astringency, reminiscent of lemon peel that is balanced by the nuanced darker notes of real ale malt and raisins. A top tea from this picturesque area in the Nuwara Eliya district.

A top tea from this picturesque area in the Nuwara Eliya district. The tea received its romantic name after a lady who jumped to her death from the cliffs together with her lover who was not befitting her rank. The tea has a delicate, slightly reddish semi-broken leaf which brews a highly aromatic, robust infusion perfect with milk. It has refreshing astringency, reminiscent of lemon peel that is balanced by the nuanced darker notes of real ale malt and raisins. Nuwara Eliya district offers a combination of attractions, such as a healing climate, scenic beauty, wooded wilderness, flowery meadows and its high plateau, the Moon Plains. Nuwara Eliya is an oval-shaped mountain valley, the plateau being 6,240 feet above the sea level. Nuwara Eliya produces tea with a unique flavour. The air is scented with the fragrance of the cypress trees that grow in abundance and mentholated with the wild mint and eucalyptus. It is a combination of all these factors that produces a tea that is recognised by tea connoisseurs the world over. It has truly been said that Nuwara Eliya is to Ceylon Tea what Champagne is to French Wine. 1340
