A fine, large leaf 'Orange Pekoe' tea from the highest tea growing region of Nuwara Eliya. This tea carries a complex array of aromatics and flavours. Darker notes of dried fruit, plum, molasses, malt are balanced with a touch of sharp citrus and menthol notes such as mint and eucalyptus. Nuwara Eliya district offers a combination of attractions, such as a healing climate, scenic beauty, wooded wilderness, flowery meadows and its high plateau, Moon Plain. Nuwara Eliya is an oval-shaped mountain valley, the plateau being 6,240 feet above the sea level. Nuwara Eliya produces tea with a unique flavour. The air is scented with the fragrance of the cypress trees that grow in abundance and mentholated with the wild mint and eucalyptus. It is a combination of all these factors that produces a tea that is recognised by the tea connoisseurs. The tea when brewed is a deep colour with an exquisite flavour and aroma. Nuwara Eliya is to Ceylon Tea what Champagne is to French Wine.
