DAMBUSTER'S 617 BLEND BLACK TEA

Dambuster's 617 Blend Black Tea
As low as £8.00
When I read that Squadron Leader George 'Johnny' Johnson, the last surviving 'Dambuster', having survived the dangerous mission, celebrated with a cup of tea, I was reminded how so often at times of stress and crisis we turn to this 'water bewitched' for comfort. The two teas I've chosen are a strong, smooth Assam blend and a very special tea that adds a touch of honey, sweet tobacco and malt to the flavour. It also has an intriguing appearance.

When I read that Squadron Leader George 'Johnny' Johnson, the last surviving 'Dambuster', having survived the dangerous mission, celebrated with a cup of tea, I was reminded how so often at times of stress and crisis we turn to this 'water bewitched' for comfort. Lincolnshire has strong ties to the Lancaster bomber and 617 Squadron in particular, and so I thought I would like to make a blend that reflected the heroic, yet workman-like qualities of the many brave crewmen who flew and worked on these missions. It is a tea that thankfully we are able to enjoy in happier times. The two teas I've chosen are a strong, smooth Assam blend and a very special tea that adds a touch of honey, sweet tobacco and malt to the flavour. It also has an intriguing appearance. Raise a cup to the 'Dambusters'. The tea balls in the blend can be used to add a special flavour to ad-hoc cups of tea or can be crushed and mixed through the blend.
