DARJEELING TURZUM WONDER DJ3 FIRST FLUSH TEA

Every year there is a race to buy the best of the early, first flush Darjeelings from the top gardens. These teas fetch very good prices for the growers and are mainly snapped up by the markets in Japan, Germany, France and recently China. We are lucky to have a special relationship with Vishal, owner of Jay Shree Tea, who allows us to cherry pick a very small amount from the earliest invoices. This is invoice DJ3 from what I believe to be Darjeeling's best garden. First flush Darjeelings are perhaps best described as having the appearance and light body of a green tea but critically the complexity of the best black teas. Turzum Garden's premier first flush Darjeeling enchants with delicate muscatel notes and vibrant citrus aromas, evoking bergamot and ripe oranges. Floral undertones mingle with rhubarb and custard apple hints, creating a fragrant bouquet. The flavour profile is complex, featuring subtle peach and apricot accents, with sweet vanilla tones that balance the crispness of oil of wintergreen. Each sip reveals Turzum's Himalayan terroir and exceptional craftsmanship, leaving an impression of refined elegance. The teas we source are from gardens where sound social and environmental policies are in place.
