This is one of our most popular dark roast coffees. It has a very appealing bittersweet, fine, dark chocolate like character. Other cupping notes noticed are brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, toffee apple, sweet tobacco. An ideal coffee-producing environment (high elevation, volcanic soil, the right balance of moisture and sun in a tropical highland climate), limited availability, and truly exceptional quality typifies the coffee that makes our Dark Side of the Moon so appealing. This estate coffee is produced in the world famous Boquete region of Panama. The slopes of Panama's tallest mountain, Volcan Baru provide rich volcanic soils and the ideal climate for growing coffees. We buy from different plantations according to the best quality available and only from those scoring 88 and above according to the SCAA cupping criteria. Only very few plantations can reach this standard. We source our coffees through suppliers who can guarantee traceability, fair pricing and ethical working conditions for labourers.
