GOLDEN PEONY JIN MU DAN HANDMADE BLACK TEA
Golden Peony (Jin Mu Dan) is a rare Fujian black tea that marries tradition with beauty in the cup. For three generations, the Ling family has cultivated tea in a sheltered valley near Baiyun Mountain, where subtropical rains, mountain mists, and steady warmth create ideal growing conditions. Their deep knowledge of the land—passed down from parent to child—shapes every stage, from tending the tea trees to refining the leaf with great care.
The cultivar itself is a relatively young treasure, developed in 2010 from a cross of Tie Guan Yin and Huangyan, yet in the Ling’s hands it takes on remarkable depth. Using the traditional Tanyang Congou method, they craft glossy black leaves that exhale the fragrance of orchids and peach even before the first infusion.
In the cup, Golden Peony reveals a silky body and a floral perfume layered with fruit and sweetness. Notes of peach and plum mingle with fig, honey, and caramel, lifted by a gentle toasted nuance. Each steeping lingers long on the palate, and the leaves can be infused four to five times, with new aromas and flavours unfolding in each cup.
Golden Peony is both elegant and generous—a tea that reflects not only Fujian’s landscapes but also the quiet dedication of the Ling family, whose hands have shaped it from garden to cup.
