HONDURAS 121 PROJECT COFFEE

In 2013 one of the coffee traders we deal with launched Project 121, with the idea of helping to bring recognition to Honduran coffee farmers and improve their livelihoods by linking and matching them to individual roasters. To be a part of the project they just have to be a good farmer, some of them have as little as one hectare of land but produce some of the tastiest coffees. Our ethos has always been to try to buy coffee from sustainable and traceable sources from farmers across producing countries. Establishing this direct link, where the entire output of the farmer is bought by us at a premium well above Fairtrade prices furthers that ambition. We offer the farmer price security in return for producing a coffee that meets the SCAA cupping standards for speciality coffee in the form of these wonderful micro-lots. Expect to find flavour and aromatic tones from peach, orange, red apple, milk chocolate, cream, toffee, white grape, orange blossom, raspberry to cherry. Smooth, sweet, zesty and light. Honduras coffee at its best.
