JAMAICAN BLUE MOUNTAIN GOLD CUP COFFEE
Jamaican Blue Mountain Gold Cup Coffee
The world's most exclusive coffee only more so! Our offering, from the highest and therefore finest plantation, Gold Cup estate, is grown and milled on site, unlike most other Blue Mountain which is blended in the Mavis bank mill. All Blue Mountain is special but this is a cut above the rest. This specific appellation and processing allow us to appreciate the original, superior quality and character of Blue Mountain coffee. It has been called a "connoisseur's delight" yielding a full flavour. It has balance, with floral, chocolate, and fruit tones. What distinguishes Blue Mountain from other coffee is a notable lack of bitterness, with a mild, yet very complex, almost creamy flavour and silky body, with an intense aroma. Artisan roasted in our 2kg micro-roaster.

The Gold Cup estate is run by father and son team Charles and Michael Lyn. At 4,500 feet the estate is the only gateway to the famous Blue Mountain peak at 7,402 feet above sea level. Only the finest, handpicked, bold beans from screen size 19, 18 & 17, designated Jamaica Blue Mountain No.1 are selected. This ensures that each cup has the fullest manifestation of notes in both aroma and taste. James Bond's coffee of choice!
A few years ago the four highest plantations were given permission to sell their own coffee beans unblended with others from the area. Like champagne, Blue Mt. is cultivated in a strictly and legally defined geographic area covering just 6000 hectares, the size of a medium-size estate elsewhere! Normally all the coffee cherries from this area are mixed together and processed at two mills, the result being a blend of the many coffee growers beans from the Blue Mt. district. This rare coffee makes up just a fraction of the total Blue Mt. crop which itself amounts to the equivalent of just three hours of Colombian production! We are pleased to be one of very few roasters in Europe offering this rarest of coffees.
