Known for its vibrant jade green colour, rich umami, and mellow sweet taste, this matcha is ideal for traditional tea ceremonies and can be enjoyed with both hot and cold water.

Cultivated in the historic Uji region of Kyoto Prefecture, where premium green tea has been grown for over 800 years, the tea plants are shaded before harvest to enhance chlorophyll and L-theanine levels. This technique not only deepens the flavour but also increases the tea's natural nutritional value.

Kyoto Uji is grown on small, family-owned organic farms and processed locally in Japan. Only the finest leaves are selected, dried, and stone-ground into a smooth, ceremonial powder. The result is a creamy, rich, and antioxidant-rich matcha that supports both tradition and wellness.

This tea is made using traditional Japanese techniques passed down through generations. Unlike mass-produced matcha—which is harvested 2 to 3 times per year with chemical inputs—this matcha is certified pesticide-free, and lab-tested for safety, purity, and quality.

Each 30g tin is produced in small batches and ground at a low speed (just 30g per hour) on handcrafted granite mills. This protects the matcha from heat damage and ensures the resulting powder is extremely fine, preserving all the flavour and nutrients.
