MATCHA VINTAGE KAGOSHIMA CEREMONIAL GREEN TEA POWDER
Vintage Kagoshima matcha is a rare, vintage ceremonial matcha crafted from the finest first flush leaves in Japan. What makes it truly special is its unique aging process—tea leaves are carefully stored and matured for 3 to 5 years before grinding, resulting in an exceptionally complex and layered flavour. This rare vintage approach is similar to fine wine or cheese, producing a matcha with deep umami, gentle sweetness, and no bitterness.
Sourced from a single-origin tea garden, this matcha is grown under a meticulous two-stage shading method—first at 70%, then at 95%—increasing chlorophyll levels and deepening the taste. In spring, only the most nutrient-rich leaves are hand-picked (Tezumi) and then stone-milled slowly on granite mills, taking an hour to produce just 30g of powder. This preserves all the matcha’s natural vibrancy and nutrients.
Matcha Horizon is ideal for traditional preparation, either as Koicha (thick matcha) or Usucha (thin matcha). It is packaged in aroma-protecting containers in Japan to lock in freshness and flavour.

This is more than just tea—it’s a vintage matcha crafted with time, care, and precision for those who appreciate depth, authenticity, and true Japanese excellence.
This tea is made using traditional Japanese techniques passed down through generations. Unlike mass-produced matcha—which is harvested 2 to 3 times per year with chemical inputs—this matcha is certified pesticide-free, and lab-tested for safety, purity, and quality.
Each 30g tin is produced in small batches and ground at a low speed (just 30g per hour) on handcrafted granite mills. This protects the matcha from heat damage and ensures the resulting powder is extremely fine, preserving all the flavour and nutrients.
