PERU MARIN FAMILY GEISHA COFFEE SCAA SCORE: 87.5
This Black Honey Geisha from Peru’s Marín family is a shining example of the unmatched quality and dedication that defines Peruvian coffee craftsmanship.
Grown on Geisha Mountain in Alto Yurinaqui, Perené, at elevations between 1,600–2,000 masl, this micro-lot comes from a family with deep roots in Peruvian coffee. Since 1960, Felix Marín and his family have led the charge in sustainable, high-quality coffee production — becoming Peru’s first organic and fair-trade exporters by rewriting export laws.
Their farm spans 11 hectares and produces very limited quantities of the Geisha variety. Just 88 exportable bags are produced annually, making each lot incredibly rare. This particular release is just 4.25kg — a true collector's item for the specialty coffee world.
Processed using the Black Honey method, this Geisha is dried with much of the fruit mucilage intact, enhancing sweetness and body. The result is a vibrant and complex cup profile.
Cup Profile:
Elegant and structured with layered notes of caramel, tangerine, black tea, lemon, and green apple. Floral aromatics lead into a juicy acidity and smooth body, finishing clean with a lingering sweetness.
