This smooth, full-bodied black tea has bold floral notes, a strong spicy aroma, and a pleasing caramel finish. There are also red grape and cocoa notes that linger. It is similar to a fine Assam tea in its full body but has almost no bitterness, like a golden bud tea from Yunnan.

Cao Bo estate in Ha Giang Province is a small family-run producer creating organic teas using traditional methods. The tea garden is near the Cao Bo mountain at an elevation of 4,600 feet, providing lots of good cloud cover to ensure slow growth of the new tea leaves. This tea is harvested from semi-wild heritage tea trees that are over 100 years old. The light brown leaves have abundant golden tips, and brew into a beautiful copper-coloured cup. The Shan Tuyet varietal is native to Vietnam and differs to the Assamica and Sinensis varieties found in other tea growing regions of Vietnam. The abundance of white hairs on this big leaf variety give it the name Shan Tuyet, meaning Mountain Snow.
